Infinite Regular Hexagon Sequences on a Triangle
The well-known dual pair of Napoleon equilateral triangles intrinsic to each triangle is extended to infinite sequences of them, shown to be special cases of infinite regular hexagon sequences on each triangle. A set of hexagon-to-hexagon transformations, the hex operators, is defined for this purpose, a set forming an abelian monoid under function composition. The sequences result from arbitra...
متن کاملDistance Sequences In Locally Infinite Vertex-Transitive Digraphs
We prove that the out-distance sequence {f(k)} of a vertex-transitive digraph of finite or infinite degree satisfies f(k + 1) ≤ f(k) for k ≥ 1, where f(k) denotes the number of vertices at directed distance k from a given vertex. As a corollary, we prove that for a connected vertextransitive undirected graph of infinite degree d, we have f(k) = d for all k, 1 ≤ k < diam(G). This answers a quest...
متن کاملMorphisms on infinite alphabets, countable states automata and regular sequences
In this paper, we prove that a class of regular sequences can be viewed as projections of fixed points of uniform morphisms on a countable alphabet, and also can be generated by countable states automata. Moreover, we prove that the regularity of some regular sequences is invariant under some codings.
متن کاملWiener, Szeged and vertex PI indices of regular tessellations
A lot of research and various techniques have been devoted for finding the topological descriptor Wiener index, but most of them deal with only particular cases. There exist three regular plane tessellations, composed of the same kind of regular polygons namely triangular, square, and hexagonal. Using edge congestion-sum problem, we devise a method to compute the Wiener index and demonstrate th...
متن کاملRefinability of splines derived from regular tessellations
Splines can be constructed by convolving the indicator function of a cell whose shifts tessellate Rn. This paper presents simple, geometric criteria that imply that, for regular shift-invariant tessellations, only a small subset of such spline families yield nested spaces: primarily the well-known tensor-product and box splines. Among the many nonrefinable constructions are hex-splines and thei...
